NBCC- About Us

New Beckenham Cricket Club (NBCC) - formerly HSBC Cricket Club – is a friendly, sociable and inclusive Club which was established over 150 years ago and plays at the HSBC Sports and Social Club, Lennard Road, Beckenham.

The Club is conveniently located next to New Beckenham Railway Station (20 minutes from London Bridge) and, with its own entrance to the grounds, offers superb facilities which include:

  • 3 cricket pitches (which are maintained to the highest standards in Kent, having recently been awarded “best pitches” by the Kent League umpires panel)
  • 2 outdoor grass nets
  • 2 astro outdoor nets
  • 3 indoor winter training nets (the only Club in the whole of Metropolitan Kent to offer on-site indoor facilities)

NBCC plays in the Kent League and runs 4 league teams ranging from Division 2 to 14 as well as playing friendly Sunday games throughout the season.

NBCC also runs a highly successful Junior Section which was established 25 years ago and offers coaching/training by qualified coaches for both boys and girls from school year 1 (All Stars Cricket) to year 10. The Juniors play matches in the North Kent Junior League throughout the summer at U11, U13 and U15 level, and there are competitions for the U9 group. Coaching is run through the winter months in our on-site training facilities. The Junior section is designed to allow a transition into the Senior Section and the Sunday Senior games regularly offer the Juniors the opportunity to play and develop their skills.

The Clubhouse offers excellent changing facilities, with separate dressing rooms for the home and visiting teams, and also includes a home team sauna. The bar offers an extensive range of drinks and comfortable lounge seating, along with a big screen, Sky and TNT Sports.

The Club is always keen to welcome new players of all abilities and offers competitive subscriptions, which includes the use of the indoor winter nets. If you are interested in joining our Club, enquiries for the Junior Section should go to the Chair, Andrew Caunce, on andrewcaunce35@gmail.com and enquiries for the Senior Section should go to the Membership Secretary, Kevin Dare, on kevin.m.dare@btinternet.com
